This soil profile modification
project began on December 13, 2001. The perforations are being made so as to
accommodate the back filling with soil amendments.
 |
The
root zone of this grass turf is predominately clay. The soil has become
excessively compact allowing for very little flow of oxygen to the root
structure. The leaf density has suffered from the effects of a diminished
root zone. In an effort to increase the leaf density a soil profile
modification program was instituted that will continue for many months.

The
perforations made will be filled with a prescribed soil amendment.
